Terms of Service

1. What FundiMtaani is

FundiMtaani is a hyperlocal directory and booking platform connecting residents of Nairobi with independent tradesmen ("fundis") — plumbers, electricians, carpenters, mechanics, cleaners and others. We introduce the two sides and provide booking, invoicing and review tools. We are not a party to the service agreement between you and the fundi.

2. Your account

• You must provide accurate contact details when signing up or booking.
• You are responsible for keeping your login details private.
• One account per person. We may suspend accounts created with false information.

3. Bookings

• A booking is a request, not a guarantee — the fundi confirms availability directly with you.
• Cancel or reschedule as early as possible by contacting the fundi directly.
• Repeated no-shows or abusive behaviour toward fundis may lead to account suspension.

4. Payments

• You pay the fundi directly (typically via M-Pesa after the job is done). FundiMtaani does not process, hold or guarantee payments.
• We charge no commission on jobs and take no cut from either side.
• Always agree the full price before work begins. Never send full payment before completion.
• Payment is settled directly between you and the fundi. The platform does not process payments, issue invoices, or act as a party to your payment agreement.

5. For fundis: listing rules

• List only trades you genuinely practise, in estates you genuinely serve.
• Keep your rates, availability and contact details accurate and up to date.
• Complete booked jobs professionally and honour agreed prices.
• Listings are approved after verification. We may re-verify, suspend or remove listings after complaints, fake reviews, or misconduct — including a permanent ban for fraud.

6. Reviews

• Reviews must be honest and based on a real booking or service interaction.
• Fake, paid, abusive or defamatory reviews will be removed, and the authors may be banned.
• Fundis may respond to reviews publicly. We moderate disputes fairly.

7. Liability disclaimer

FundiMtaani connects residents directly with independent artisans. We are not liable for the quality, safety, timeliness or outcome of any work arranged through the platform, nor for private agreements, payments or disputes between users and fundis. Use the Trust & Safety guidance and your own judgement.

8. Acceptable use

• Do not use the platform for unlawful purposes, harassment, or spam.
• Do not scrape, copy or republish directory content without permission.
• Do not attempt to disrupt the service or bypass security controls.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with or without notice for serious misconduct such as fraud, abuse or safety violations. You may delete your account at any time via the help desk.

10. Copyright and takedown notices

• Only upload documents or photos you own, took yourself, or are licensed to share. Do not upload anyone else's copyrighted material (for example, photos copied from the internet or another person's ID) without permission.
• If you believe content on FundiMtaani infringes your copyright, send a takedown notice to support@fundimtaani.me with: your name and contact details, a description of the copyrighted work, the exact page or listing where the infringing material appears, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is unauthorised.
• We will review valid notices promptly, remove or disable access to infringing material, and may suspend repeat offenders.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform grows. Material changes will be announced on the platform, and continued use after the update date means you accept them.
